# Settings
SetI7:\Ssubstitute quotes as open and closed (“smart”) quotes.
SetI7S:Quotes are currently substituted as open and closed (“smart”) quotes.
SetI8:\Ssubstitute quotes as neutral (“sexless”) quotes.
SetI8S:Quotes are currently substituted as neutral (“sexless”) quotes.
SetI6:\Snot substitute strings as defined in the Expands window – e.g. OE/ stays OE/, and doesn’t become Œ.
SetI6S:Expands are currently not substituted.
SetI9:\Ssubstitute strings as defined in the Expands window Рe.g. Πfor OE/.
SetI9S:Expands are currently substituted.
SetI13:\Sturn off typo correction: “THis WOrd” stays “THis WOrd”.
SetI14:\Sturn on typo correction. Smart Quotes will check words for case, and replace any accidental capitalisations: “THis WOrd” becomes “This Word”.
SetI13S:Typo correction is currently off.
SetI14S:Typo correction is currently on.
SetI?/SetI??/SetIW:\Tsettings window where you can turn various character substitutions on and off. Use the Characters window to change the characters used as quotes, or the Expands window to view and edit the list of expands.
# Choices
Cho0:\Sshow the state of quote substitution in the iconbar icon. If quote substitution is on, the icon will show a “, otherwise it will show a ". If Smart Quotes loses track of where you are in the text, a ? will appear briefly.
Cho0S:\Sdisplay the Smart Quotes icon in the iconbar icon. This will not change as you type.
Cho1S:\Sturn off interactive help.
Cho2S:Click \s if you want the module to remain – and substitution to continue – when you quit this program.
Cho3:Click \s if you want the module to quit – and substitution to stop – when you quit this program.
Cho4:\Srevert to default settings. These are: show quote state in icon, interactive help, ‘Quit’ kills module.
Cho5:\Ssave these choices as the default choices, which will be used next time Smart Quotes is run. This will also save the position of the windows.
Cho3:\Ssee more choices in the “Other choices” window. This will cause disc access.
Cho3S/Cho4S/Cho5S/Cha12S/Cha13S/Cha14S/EdD2S/EdD3S:You can let go of the button now.
Cho?/Cho??/ChoW:\Tchoices window, where you can control some of the ways Smart Quotes works. Changes will take effect immediately. Click \s on “Other...” to see more options.
